Boston University Summer Term High School Programs invites you to experience pre-college summer study at one of the world’s top teaching and research universities.

This summer, prepare for your college future with exciting and challenging summer programs for high school students at Boston University Summer Term. With five programs to choose from, you can earn college credit, discover new subject areas, perform cutting-edge research in university labs, or immerse yourself in hands-on learning. You will have the opportunity to push yourself academically while experiencing college life, making friends with fellow students, and engaging in exciting social activities on campus and around the city of Boston.

BU’s long-running Summer Term pre-college offerings include a choice of one-, two-, three-, and six-week programs, where you can study alongside students from around in the globe. We invite you to join other motivated teens from 50 states and 87 countries to experience this great introduction to college life and academics.

High School Honors—Rising seniors and exceptional rising juniors take undergraduate courses and earn up to 8 college credits. Residential, commuter, or online. Six weeks—June 29–August 8. 

Research in Science and Engineering (RISE) — Rising seniors conduct university-level research with some of the nation's brightest minds. Two track options: Internship and Practicum. Residential or commuter. Six weeks—June 30–August 9. 

Academic Immersion (AIM)—Rising juniors and seniors focus intensively on one subject, combining classroom work with hands-on experiential learning. Three track options: Introduction to Experimental Psychology, Introduction to Medicine, or Creative Writing. Residential or commuter. Three weeks—Experimental Psychology or Business: June 29–July 18; Medicine or Creative Writing: July 20–August 8.

Summer Challenge—Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors explore two subjects of their choice and experience college life. Residential only. Two weeks—Session 1: June 15–June 27; Session 2: July 6-July 18; Session 3: July 20–August 1.

Summer Preview—Rising eighth, ninth, and tenth graders delve into one subject of their choice while previewing college life. Residential or commuter. One week— June 15-June 20.
