    For two weeks, immerse yourself in the excitement of college life and new academic challenges at Boston University through our summer program for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

    This summer, explore your interests and discover new ones as you push your academic boundaries and immerse yourself in the college experience.

    Summer Challenge students can choose any two seminars from our extensive list. Each is designed to expand your academic horizons through lectures, discussions, individual and group work, project-based assignments—even field trips. Small class sizes give you the opportunity to receive individual attention from our experienced team of college instructors. This summer's seminars include:

    As part of our program, we offer a college admissions workshop that provides Summer Challenge students with valuable insight into the college application process.

    In our Summer Challenge program, you’ll be part of a close-knit social community of high school students experiencing college life. Every day, there are activities that give you a chance to make new friends, learn more about yourself, and get to know the great city of Boston.

    Cost and Session Information

    Session Dates

    Session 1: June 18–June 30, 2023

    Session 2: July 9–July 21, 2023*

    Session 3: July 23–August 4, 2023

    *Limited remote seminar options are available during Session 2. Please visit our website for more information.

    Tuition and Fees

    Application Fee (non-refundable): $50
    Tuition: $4,550

    The total charge for Summer Challenge includes tuition, housing, and all meals in the dining hall. It also includes textbooks and all sponsored activities during the two-week program.

    Please note: a $500 non-refundable deposit (applied to tuition) is required once a student commits to attending Summer Challenge in order to hold a place in the selected seminars.

    The application fee is not included in the tuition.
