CIEE High School Summer in Rome, Italy: Italian

Embark on four weeks of language immersion in the colossal capital of Italy. After language classes, practice your new skills conversing with local teens at markets, shops, and the lively piazzas that dot the city. Step back in time at ancient and iconic sites, like the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the Vatican. Marvel at Renaissance masterpieces, like the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms, and gain a deeper understanding of Italy’s vital artistic contributions to the world. 

Rome is the home of three major universities. Learning here is a local specialty and as much a centerpiece of daily life as fine foods. The language skills and experiences you will gain here will equip you for further exploration throughout the peninsula of Italy. Each day after language classes, you will share meals, shop at local markets, learn local customs, and enjoy everyday life, and gelato! By the end of your stay, your proficiency will have grown by leaps and bounds. You will also be able to put your new skills into practice while conversing with local program leaders, who will help you to discover the city from a true Roman perspective!
