    Overview

Enjoy building models? Like to tinker? Considering a career in Engineering?

This program gives students the chance to cultivate an existing interest or spark a new passion as they become apprentice engineers and construct a series of boats. Students will have fun in the sun as they explore key principles of engineering with these design projects.

Students in the program will learn about gravity and buoyancy by making a simple tinfoil boat. Next, they will create a putt-putt boat with a real steam engine using everyday objects. They will then advance to constructing a foam ship powered by Arduino electronics.

    Cost and Session Information

Day and residential options are available for this one-week program.

We offer selective scholarships to a very limited number of students on the basis of financial need.
