This one-week program is for students interested in understanding the process of drug discovery and development in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. The program provides an introduction to the knowledge required for a potential career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Students learn Synthetic Chemistry techniques through hands-on synthesis of a simple drug molecule, its isolation, and purification.

The program allows students to learn Biotechnology in the center of one of the biggest pharmaceutical hot-spots in the nation. Our location gives the students the opportunity to engage in hands on experience and instruction from leading pharmaceutical and bio-tech professionals. This year we have lined up guest lectures from industry experts and a field trip to a biotech/pharma company.

This one-week summer program is designed for teens interested in biotech & business.

    • "I really liked the teacher, Dr. Lazebnik. She was very nice and had a lot of educational activities for us that were enjoyable, such as various educational labs and videos. She also was very knowledgeable on the subject of biotech, telling us all about the current research and discoveries being made in the field of biotech. I liked our field trip to LabCentral and I liked seeing all the different financial aspects of biotech and pharmaceutical companies, especially as a rising senior who is considering biotech as a career path."

    • 'I really enjoyed the program and my teacher. I learned a lot during the program like how difficult it is to get a drug passed by the FDA or to even make a drug that works with no side effects...I also learned what a successful Biotech company needs like marketing and money. I also liked that Dr. Parul was so interested and into the topic because it made learned it more exciting.'
