    Overview

Discover the exciting world of engineering at the Summer ENGineering Institute (SENGI)! Explore fields like biomedical, civil, computer, environmental, and more through hands-on projects, faculty presentations, and guided activities. Work with professional engineers to solve real-world problems and showcase your final project at the end of this immersive two-week experience.

The Summer ENGineering Institute (SENGI) is a dynamic, multi-faceted program designed to introduce students to the many ways engineers create innovative solutions that improve daily life and strengthen communities. Participants will explore a wide range of engineering fields—including biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical—through engaging faculty presentations, guided discovery sessions, and hands-on design activities.

Led by practicing engineers and university faculty, students will tackle real-world challenges and learn how science and engineering principles are applied in diverse contexts. Throughout the two-week program, participants will collaborate on an extended group project that integrates the skills and knowledge they’ve gained. The experience culminates with a final presentation, giving students the opportunity to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and engineering insight.
