    Overview

    Do you like to write and tell stories, or shoot photos and videos?  This summer, learn what it takes to be a multimedia journalist as part of the Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists. In this residential program, you will work with experienced journalists from Stony Brook’s School of Communications and Journalism to explore the fundamentals of text-based and visual storytelling. Outside class, you will experience campus life and meet new like-minded people.

    The Stony Brook University Pre-College Summer —  Multimedia Journalism program is designed for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in learning about what it takes to be a multimedia journalist. As part of the Greene Institute you will explore the fundamentals of text-based and visual storytelling, including:

    • Conducting interviews
    • Writing stories and scripts
    • Shooting photos and videos

    Cost and Session Information

    The cost of the one-week program is $2,200 and there is an application fee of $45. This fee includes the course,  learning materials, social programs, residence hall access, and all meals.

    DISCOUNT: Apply by April 1 and receive $100 off the program cost.
