    Overview

    This summer, you can explore the intersection of science, technology, and health. Learn how to use data and technology to improve health outcomes. Biomedical informatics (BMI) is an interdisciplinary field that strives to improve human health by studying the uses of biomedical data, information, and knowledge for scientific inquiry, problem-solving, and decision-making. In this experiential course, you will gain skills using analytical SQL queries and the fundamentals of machine learning.

    The Stony Brook University Pre-College Summer —  Biomedical Informatics program is designed for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in learning to use tools that combine technology and healthcare. During the program, you will:

    • Learn the concepts and foundations from university experts
    • Practice skills through tutorials and demonstrations of healthcare data analytics
    • Gain hands-on experience using SQL and machine learning

    Cost and Session Information

    The cost of the one-week program is $2,200, and there is an application fee of $45. This fee includes the course,  learning materials, social programs, residence hall access, and all meals.
