    Overview

    Are you ready to chart your path in environmental sustainability? This summer, learn how you can create a sustainable future. This week-long residential program reviews the needs of the current population and future generations, trends that affect our ability to provide for those needs while addressing climate change, and possible environmentally, economically, and socially acceptable solutions. 

    The Stony Brook University Pre-College Summer — Sustainability in Action program is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in learning more about creating a more sustainable future. In this experiential program, you will gain hands-on experience with the latest efforts in sustainability. You will participate in:

    • Brief discussions about local, regional, national, and international efforts at sustainability
    • Guided research into examples of sustainability
    • Field trips to locations on and off campus to see sustainability in action

    Cost and Session Information

    To be accepted into this program, you must be a rising junior or senior in good academic standing. This program is open only to US residents between the ages of 15 and 17.

    A limited number of scholarships are available to offset the program costs for students with demonstrated need. The Scholarships are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
