Quinnipiac’s summer programs & camps are designed to provide more than just the chance to explore your interests, but a means to expand your skills and accomplishments using project-based experiential learning. Programs operate over one to two weeks on all 3 of our campuses, across 600 acres in Hamden and North Haven, Connecticut with both commuter and resident attendence available.

Pre-Med Preparation: Medical Microbiology
1 week | on-campus daytime| college-bound high school students
This one-week program delivers strategies and hands-on learning for culturing microbes and diagnosing infectious diseases. Students will have the opportunity to explore the importance of the human microbiome in health and disease, the rise of antibiotic resistance, and local and global challenges of infectious disease outbreaks.
Healthcare Career Exploration Academy
2 week | on-campus daytime| college-bound high school students
In this exciting 2-week program, high school students will be introduced to a variety of health professions all while engaging in hands-on skill building such as proficiency in taking vital signs, introduction to suturing techniques, fabrication of custom orthoses, basic gait training and transfer skills, bench science laboratory techniques, basic dissection techniques. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to earn 2 credit hours transferable to Quinnipiac University.
Modern Storytelling: Movie-Making
1 weeks | on-campus daytime | high school & transition program students
This summer program is open to high school students of varying abilities who dream of telling important stories across multiple platforms. Participants will spend 1 week immersed in our own on-campus production studio creating content, using our field camera equipment and editing labs to shoot and edit their own video content.
Modern Storytelling: Digital Photography Workshop
1 week | on campus| high school students
From portraits to compositions, this one-week program immerses you in the fundamentals of digital photography through a variety of independent challenges. In this hands-on summer course, you’ll develop photography skills by shooting real photo assignments and will walk away with a portfolio of photos that you can confidently share.
Hacker High School: Introduction to Cybersecurity
2 weeks | on campus | high school students
This 2-week program provides a deep, 360-degree understanding of how computer and digital information works and its connection to the field of cybersecurity. It will prepare you to take the official Certified Hacker Analyst certification exam, sponsored by the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM).
Game Design & eSports Lab
2 weeks | on campus | high school students
In this 2-week program, you will gain a deeper understanding of two key area within the $90 billion-dollar online games industry: game design and eSports. You will learn the process of designing, developing and testing games before shifting your focus to how to participate in and manage eSports teams.
Data Science Lab
2 weeks | on campus | high school students
In this 2-week program you will have the chance to learn the basics of data science through engaging lessons and hands-on projects, as well as explore the exciting and growing possibilities of a career in data science. You will learn to leverage math, statistics and computer programming to analyze data, detect patterns, solve problems and influence the decisions we make.
Modern Storytelling: Sports Journalism
1 week | on campus | high school students
Calling all future anchors, sports writers, color commentators and sideline reporters! Learn the fundamentals of sports journalism and journalistic writing, while using QU’s state-of-the-art media production studios to record, edit and produce work at a professional level. Special guest speakers from ESPN and other sports organizations will provide feedback on your work and offer insight into careers in the industry.
Bobcat Nature Academy
1 week | on campus | high school students
This summer experience takes you out of the classroom and gives you a front-row seat to the natural world. Develop hands on problem-solving and critical thinking skills through outdoor ecology experiements and projects using our local natural resources in environments like Sleeping Giant State Park.
Graphic and Interactive Design Workshop
1 week | on campus | high school students
Are you ready to explore and learn more about the world of Graphic and Interactive Design? Wonder how posters and web sites are designed? When you are on your favorite app, ever wonder on how they do it? How do graphic designers create websites, apps, and animations? This summer camp is designed to teach you the tools and techniques graphic designers use to create everything from printed posters, banner animations, apps, websites and more.
Physical and Life Sciences Exploration Academy
2 weeks | on campus | high school students
Explore the exciting world of science including biology, astronomy, anthropology, geology, physics, and chemistry. Students will gain hands-on experience designing and executing experiments through workshops focused on the nervous system and senses, exoplanets and astronomical data, ancient stone tool analysis, exploring the rock cycle, electric motors and generators, and soap and volcanoes.
Public Relations and Social Media Bootcamp
1 week | on campus | high school students
Ever wonder how Barbie became the biggest movie of the year? Or how Taylor Swift, Kevin Hart and Zendaya became the hottest stars to follow? They knew how to combine the power of public relations and social media; and you can too! Gain real-world experience working for an actual client guided by a public relations pro during this one week program.
