This two-week, hands-on workshop introduces students to the practice and techniques of scenic and lighting design for theatre.
Applications for Summer 2026 open on November 15 and close on March 15.
This dynamic program equips students to analyze scripts and develop design skills. By understanding visual storytelling through scenic and lighting elements, students will learn to research and design a world based on theatrical text. Students can expect to:
- Read scripts and do design-based research
- Create a series of drawings or small scenic models based on a script
- Generate visual renderings of lighting ideas
- Present design ideas to larger audiences

The cost for a two-week, residential, non-credit-bearing program for summer 2026 is $6,500.
