Vanderbilt Mentor Immersion (VMI) is a virtual program for advanced high school students who want to explore a subject in depth. You’ll work directly with an expert in your field to create a project or product, with feedback and guidance every step of the way. Through this unique program, you’ll be able to deepen your understanding in a field of study while making new friends with peers and gaining experience similar to practicing professionals.
Over four months, you’ll meet weekly with your mentor, ateaching assistant and a small group of classmates. Together, you’ll dive into real-world topics and gain valuable insight into what it’s like to be successful in a field of study. Later in the program, you’ll develop your own project with your mentor’s guidance. The Vanderbilt Mentor Immersion program isn’t just about learning; it’s about creating something meaningful and getting hands-on experience in a professional setting.
