WHY SMITH PRECOLLEGE?
- Take real college-style classes at Smith (no credits or grades)
- Live on our gorgeous campus with a tight-knit community
- Build confidence, independence and deep connection
In the Women, Gender & Representation (WGR) program, students from across the country and world take transformative courses that tackle gender justice issues that matter to them! Women and Gender students investigate topics like: Queer Love Stories, Global Reproductive Justice, and Gender in Sports.
Our students gain a preview of college life. They experience academic exploration (without grades or tests!), campus navigation, community connection and a residential experience in one of New England's most vibrant college towns. Classes are Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm with a break for lunch, followed by a 1pm-4pm class block. After class, students can explore campus and downtown Northampton, take part in activities in our houses, or simply relax and build friendships with fellow peers. We offer a unique curriculum with courses not typically offered in high school.
