PALS at University of Central Florida - Orlando, FL
    June 18-24, 2023

Do you want to Communicate More Effectively?

Begin by developing your listening skills and emotional intelligence at PALS at UCF. A leader’s ability to communicate clearly and effectively is one of the foundations of a successful team or project.

At PALS at UCF, our mission is to empower the next generation of leaders by demonstrating the vital role that empathy, communication, and life and social skills play in personal and professional success. With our theme of Communication and Emotional Intelligence, our goal is to inspire and educate our participants on the power of these skills and how they can be utilized in leadership and personal development.

We believe that college preparedness is an essential component of personal growth, and as such, our experts will be providing mock interviews, college advising, and mentoring to all youth participants.

Our participants will have the unique opportunity to experience college life first-hand by staying in dorms at the largest public university in the U.S. This immersive experience will allow them to understand the college experience and prepare themselves for the next stage of their education.

At PALS, we offer a wide variety of workshops and activities that cater to all interests. Whether you are passionate about making a difference, public speaking, mental health, LGBTQ+ issues, anti-bullying, forming friendships, or learning how to get ready for college or the workforce, we have a workshop or activity you will find interesting, inspiring, and definitely worthwhile.

We can't wait to see you there!

WORKSHOPS INCLUDE (But Not Limited To):

College Preparedness: Prepare for college with opportunities such as mock interviews with career professionals, college essay and application assistance, career days, and community service hours.

Mentorship: Receive one-on-one mentoring and coaching from NVEEE and PALS alumni, recent graduates, and current college interns. Learn from their real-life experiences, as well as how many of them have transformed their pain into purpose and are thriving.

Financial Education: Your financial decisions today have an impact on your future lifestyle. Learn how to become financially independent and avoid debt by developing effective money management skills. Learn about investing, banking, credit scores, and paying for college from professionals. FAFSA, financial aid, scholarships, grants, student loans, and other topics are covered.

Mock Interviews: What exactly is your brand? Have you prepared a 30-second elevator pitch? Our course will help you prepare for public speaking and interviews, whether for college admissions, scholarships, competitions, or a job opportunity.

College Essay & Application: Create your college essay and résumé on-site. We'll assist you in crafting and editing an engaging narrative that will make you a compelling applicant.

Community Service: Through service projects, PALS will teach you how to advocate for others and your community. Writing, producing, and starring in original public service announcements, participating in on-site upcycling projects that benefit local shelters, donating school supplies, gently used clothing or sanitary products, and collaborating with local nonprofits to achieve a common goal are some of our options.

    Evening Social Activities Include:

    • Ice Cream Social & Lip Sync Battle
    • Pool day (UCF and FIU only)
