    Overview

Come to campus ready to learn the basic principles of robotics! Using Lego SPIKE Prime, teams of campers will have the opportunity to invent, design, and build robots while learning the basic structure of computer programming.

By integrating motors and sensors with the SPIKE microcomputer, campers will program their robots to respond to their environment, react to light, avoid obstacles, and accomplish amazing things. The last half of the camp will be spent using the things they learned to accomplish tasks on a FIRST Lego League mat.

This hands-on program provides campers with the opportunity for exploration and practical application of math, science, programming, and engineering (STEM) concepts while working in small, collaborative teams with a teacher who will guide their exploration and discovery. No robotics experience is required to participate. All materials will be furnished.

    Camp activities include:

    • Hands-on robotics hardware and software instruction
    • Working on a robotics team overview
    • Computer programming 101
    • Designing a robot for the team challenge
