    • Celina Satamian, United Arab Emirates EHL Junior Academy - Lausanne - Hospitality Business & Innovation 2016 I chose the summer academy because it was a great opportunity to discover what the EHL university experience would be like. Meeting students from different nationalities really exposed me to the multicultural environment that EHL has. My favorite part of the week was having different types of classes and activities, ranging from being hands-on and cooking in the kitchen, to learning and discovering new concepts of hospitality in a classroom.

    • Alexandra Pikiner, USA EHL Junior Academy - Lausanne - Hospitality Business & Innovation 2018 My name is Alexandra Pikiner and I was born and raised in the Bay Area in California. I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor program at EHL. I attended the summer academy in the summer of 2018 to get a better understanding of what to expect if I went to EHL. It was my first time in Switzerland, and unforgettable. I was with students from all over the world who were my age and going through the same life lessons as me. The Summer Academy session which stood out the most to me was the one about what I could do with a hospitality degree. I thought it was only about working in hotels, but quickly realized there was so much more to do. I could go into finance, marketing, work at an airline, amusement park, or any job that required talking to people. However, the most interesting activity, was when I was able to prepare an apricot flamb'e! This week showed me that even though I was 5,000 miles away from home, I wasn't alone. It prepared me for the fact that living in Switzerland could be fun, the possibilities and opportunities at EHL are endless, and that I am a perfect match for this school.

    • Sophia Gregory, United Kingdom EHL Junior Academy - Lausanne - Hospitality Business & Innovation 2019 o Why did you choose EHL Junior Academy? I chose EHL junior academy because I wanted to have an insight into what life would be like at EHL and in Lausanne, I loved that I was able to see the accommodation etc. I also wanted to be able to meet people that would be potential classmates. o What did you learn? A lot! We had both practical and academic classes. I was able to learn about student life, we talked to Bachelor students about what they enjoy doing on the weekend etc. I was also able to learn about the expectations the teachers have for us, it made the first few weeks of the Bachelor program I joined the next year so much easier. o Did you enjoy your week with us? Really fun and exciting, I loved it! It was also very tiring as there are a lot of activities in a short amount of time. o What was the most useful /fun / interesting activity? what did you prefer? The kitchen workshop or the wine tasting. The kitchen workshop was really interesting and a lot of fun. It was nice to come off campus and go to a beautiful vineyard for the afternoon and I really enjoyed learning about the wine. I also loved the gala dinner and it was a great way to end the week. o Parents: what's a benefit of the program you see for your child? She was able to see what her university was going to be like, it allowed her to be sure that EHL was where she wanted to be. She was more confident about starting in September. o Did the week prepare you for uni? Yes definitely! I think more for the Preparatory year than the rest of the Bachelor program, as there were a lot of practical workshops and classes. It prepares you for the intensity of the Preparatory Year, and allows you to see all aspects of EHL. I think there was a good balance of academic and practical classes, if it was all done in a classroom, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much.
