    Duke Pre-College Programs provide academically motivated middle and high school students with rigorous learning experiences. Duke Pre-College Programs inspire and challenge the next generation of problem-solvers. Our diverse selection of courses is designed to bring the Duke experience to current 6th-11th graders through cutting-edge topics featuring Duke guest speakers, researchers and resources.

    Our program offerings:

    Residential: Middle and High School Course Options

    In Duke Pre-College’s Residential Program, you will enjoy an unforgettable one- or two-week residential academic experience. Live in a Duke dormitory, eat in world-class dining facilities, and visit significant locations throughout campus. Experience life at Duke University!

    Summer For-Credit Courses

    For rising 11th & 12th grade students, credit options include courses at Duke University for local commuter students and online courses for non-commuters, including international high school students.

    Online: High School Course Options

    Enjoy the Duke experience from home in Duke’s Online Program. Study a topic of interest and connect with a global network of peers. Daily lessons will include both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. Experience live Zoom meetings with your instructors and like-minded students. Take part in active small and whole group activities while enjoying the flexibility of online learning in Duke Pre-College’s Online Program.

    Duke University Marine Lab Courses

    Located on the coast of North Carolina, the Duke Marine Lab offers a unique interactive experience for Pre-College participants. Students live and learn on site, with classes taught by experienced instructors and industry professionals, while having access to labs, boats, and other Marine Lab resources. Courses will include sustainability, conservation, marine biology, and more.

    Cost and Session Information

    We recommend students have a 3.5+ GPA to successfully participate and complete our summer courses. 

    Financial aid and scholarships are available.
