    Overview

Success as a professional animator begins with a passion for creating art. Through project-based learning, students will be introduced to the artistic and technical skills and professional tools needed to create high-quality 3D animation for use in film, television, and video games. Hands-on learning, led by our industry-expert faculty, will help students identify artistic career pathways and come away with not only tangible skills in animation, but some solid portfolio pieces as well.

In the Animation Academy students will:

    • Learn about the 12 principles of animation to create 2D and 3D animations
    • Develop the STEM technical and artistic balance required of professional animation
    • Implement professional-level workflows with professional-grade equipment
    • Experience what it is like to study animation in a college setting
    • Professionally render and showcase their animations
    • Build confidence and real-world experience

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain in beautiful Burlington, Vermont, Champlain College's Pre-College Summer Programs provide students with a robust learning environment and the opportunity to make new connections with peers and faculty who have shared interests. (Space is limited.)
