    Overview

Audio Engineering and Sound Design are highly specialized skill sets that are in demand in today’s music industry. Through project-based learning using industry-grade technology, students will explore writing, producing and engineering sound and music for a variety of platforms including broadcast, video and online media. Hands-on learning, led by our industry-expert faculty, helps students identify career pathways and come away with tangible skills and some solid portfolio pieces.

In the Audio Engineering, Sound Design & Music Academy, students will:

    • Experience what it is like to study these fields in college
    • Gain insight into where their passions for career pathways in sound and audio truly are and discern which direction they would like to take as they plan for college
    • Practice music, sound editing, and audio engineering using industry-grade systems and technology
    • Learn new skills and work collaboratively with other students who are also passionate about audio engineering, sound design, and music
    • Get a head start on building their portfolio

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain in beautiful Burlington, Vermont, Champlain College's Pre-College Summer Programs provide students with a robust learning environment and the opportunity to make new connections with peers and faculty who have shared interests. (Space is limited.)
