Pathfinders is a one-on-one mentorship program that lets middle school and high school students take three careers or academic subjects on a test-drive. The program entails four, 1-hour zoom sessions–essentially guided informational interviews–and is designed to be completed in under one month.
Pathfinders introduces students to different colleges, degree fields, and professions by experts currently working in those fields. Students walk away from this program with a clearer sense of their career and academic interests, ideas and next steps for further exploration. A concluding “diagnostic session” with a Polygence team member helps students to reflect on what they discovered, to identify key lessons from conversations with each mentor, and to develop a plan to continue their research with Polygence or on their own.
