Get immersed in the world of computer game design at the Game & Technology Academy, powered by George Mason University. You’ll get your hands on the latest technologies and tap into the vast knowledge and experience of leading game and design gurus in Mason’s state-of-the-art labs.
At the Game & Technology Academy, high school students will be immersed in the world of computer game design and have access to the latest software, tools and equipment, as well as the vast knowledge and experience of the leading game and design gurus at George Mason University. This is your chance to turn your passion for gaming into a game plan for success!
Students choose from three content tracks where they will learn to develop, design, program and publish an original animation or game:
- 3D Game Design
- Modeling & Animation for 3D Games
- Mobile Game/Mixed Reality Development
See your dream become reality! Throughout the program, you’ll collaborate with other like-minded future gamers and designers, as you create and ultimately showcase what could be the next Triple A title to your peers.
Cost and Session Information
We accept applications from self-starters and encourage all students (entering grades 10-12 grade next fall) with an interest in a medical career to apply.
Tuition for this 8-day residential NYLF Medicine Program at the University of Maryland is $995 and session dates are July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26, and July 29-August 2, 2019.
The application process includes writing two short essays and providing the name of a teacher or mentor who can speak to your achievements and maturity and who may be contacted to provide supporting information.

The TAs and administrator helped me work through problems and create new aspects of my game. Their knowledge made typically frustrating bugs or issues easy to fix and learn from.
