Iona supports people as they experience the challenges and opportunities of aging. We educate, advocate, and provide community-based services to help people age well and live well.
Volunteers play a vital role in Iona’s work. Each year, hundreds contribute by visiting participants at the adult day health centers, supporting administrative tasks, and more. Opportunities are open to people of all ages, including student interns.
Friendly Visitor Volunteer: The Age Well/Live Well Volunteer Program offers companionship to older adults living alone, supports those aging with disabilities, and provides in-home respite for family caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).
Volunteer at Iona's Adult Day Health Centers: Individuals with special skills, training, or talents who enjoy sharing their knowledge—particularly with older adults—may be well-suited to volunteer at Iona’s adult day health centers. Volunteers who are friendly, passionate about their work, and interested in teaching or engaging with others can make a meaningful contribution in this role.
More opportunities as well as the application form can be found on Iona's website.
