    Overview

    The University of Montana provides students with academic enrichment programs during the summer. Summer Exploration offers rising high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates infinite possibilities during a transformative, two-week residential experience, exploring all aspects of student life, engaging with world-class faculty, exploring the iconic landscapes and communities surrounding Missoula, Montana, and building lifelong connections with their fellow participants.

    Courses may include:

    • Biking the Bitterroot: Sustainability Studies in Western Montana: Ride 100+ miles through Western Montana's stunning Bitterroot valley, sleeping under the stars and visiting with incredible guest speakers while learning about sustainability, environmental science, and climate issues in Western Montana.
    • CSI Missoula: Examine all the components of the U.S. criminal justice system through working on a simulated murder investigation from crime scene investigation, to profiling, to mock trial, and conviction.
    • Environmental Ethics: Climate Change and Sense of Place: Sleep under the stars, hike alpine ridges, and engage in daily class discussions, while studying the regional effects of climate change, and meeting people working to address climate and environmental justice. 
    • Montana Habitats: Students will engage in field and classroom studies exploring the living systems of Montana with a focus on understanding common habitats.

    Cost and Session Information

    Cost: $3,000 USD (the cost includes course fee, room, and board, all meals, and program costs.)
