Minnesota Conservatory of the Arts: Summer Dance Intensive Recently Updated

If you are an intermediate or advanced dancer between the ages of 11-24 and eager to elevate your dance skills, this intensive is tailor-made for you!  You will spend seven to nine hours of your day studying dance under the direction of seasoned professional instructors. Spend 2- 3 weeks dancing this summer in the beautiful river town of Winona, MN. 

The acclaimed boarding summer dance intensive (SDI) provides a nurturing and intimate atmosphere where dancers' technique will soar to new heights while dancing 7-9 hours a day. This Midwest camp is the only ballet-based boarding camp in Minnesota that also exposes dancers to other dance generes including jazz, musical theatre, modern, hip hop and ethnic dancing.  

MCA is housed at the Valencia Arts Center (VAC) on the Cotter Schools Campus. The facilities include: Three state-of-the-art dance studios, The Academy Black Box Theatre, Recital Hall, Visual Arts Room, lockers, four music practice rooms, costume shop, offices and public lounge equipped with Wi-Fi. As an affiliate program of Saint Mary's University (SMUMN), MCA is also lucky enough to hold performances in The beautiful Page Theatre and Figulio Recital Hall on the SMUMN Campus. Boarding students during the Summer Dance Intensive reside across the courtyard from the VAC in the historic Alverna Center. The Alverna Center features 24-hour security, free Wi-Fi, catered meal service, and a solarium for group activities. Students are assigned one or two other roommates. All dorm rooms have private bathrooms and each floor has a community refrigerator, microwave, extra towels, sheets and more.

In addition to dance classes, your tuition includes a range of exciting evening and weekend activities that will make your time at MCA truly memorable. Students will have the opportunity to connect with fellow dancers from different backgrounds and build lasting friendships during their stay.
