    Overview

    The program is completely free! In addition to learning about creative and technical aspects of design, students will also be introduced to the business side of design, career pathways, and educational requirements, with guest visits from designers, manufacturers, and representatives from design schools. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a paid stipend. 

    The program is offered in three markets:

    • DYW Dallas, TX

    Students will develop a basic understanding of commercial interior design including the history and process of design, sustainability, ergonomics, materials and furnishings through practical learning sessions, hands-on projects, field trips, and industry engagement. DYW will also introduce the business practices of interior design, career specializations, and educational requirements—all supported by visits from designers, manufacturers, and design school representatives and fieldtrips to architectural landmarks, design firms and/or manufacturer showrooms.
