Global Medical Academy programs are 8-day international medical service trips for students to help bring essential medical services to under-resourced communities through mobile medical clinics alongside our physicians, nurses and pharmacists. Students gain 30+ hours of documented medical service hours assisting with triage, shadowing the physicians, providing education workshops, helping to distribute medicine in the pharmacy. These programs take place in Panama, Belize and Greece.
Welcome to the Global Medical Academies for high school students! These 8-day summer medical service trips to Panama, Belize, or Greece are open to individual students or groups of 3+ students (with a faculty/advisor that travels for free). Each program brings together students from across the country for hands-on learning. Program fees cover flights, meals, lodging, transportation, tours, clinic contributions, and travel insurance, with 24/7 support from professional in-country staff.
When you arrive, you'll get to know our staff and fellow Academy program participants at our hotel. You will visit a local community and learn about rural healthcare and local economic needs before heading to your rural mobile community medical clinic. You'll spend the next four days working with healthcare professionals in mobile medical clinics, assisting hundreds of patients. On the last two days of your trip, you will enjoy cultural activities and explore local tourist sites before returning to the city for ?nal evening reflections, celebrations, and departure.
