    Overview

B-WISER stands for Buckeye Women In Science, Engineering, and Research. This premier science camp serves middle school girls interested in STEM fields throughout the state of Ohio. The residential program includes daily courses with a full laboratory experience to advance campers’ skills in a range of scientific disciplines. Campers stay overnight in college dorms and utilize campus laboratory facilities.

We welcome applications from rising 8th and 9th graders for the camp session. B-Wiser is a girl-centered program open to all students who identify as a girl/female in any way.

Throughout the camp week, students take a full daily curriculum with classes in physics, chemistry, biology, geology, robotics, and engineering. This cooperative learning experience boosts self-confidence and inspires girls to pursue their passions.

Girls also meet professional women in science who share their journeys in a wide range of disciplines.  And in the evenings, campers participate in hands-on programs on topics ranging from civil engineering to light and waves.

Since its founding, B-WISER has inspired and empowered thousands of girls to pursue science courses and STEM degrees.  The program is an educational partnership of The College of Wooster and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.
