    Overview

BYU invites talented musicians ages 14–18 to join us for an unforgettable summer of music, friendship, and growth. Choose from three incredible programs: the BYU Musicians’ Institute, the BYU Musicians’ SummerFestival, or the BYU Choral and Vocal Institute—each designed to help you refine your skills, expand your musical horizons, and connect with other passionate musicians.

BYU Musicians’ Institute is for elite musicians ages 14–18 who want to further develop their talent by working in chamber ensembles coached by members of BYU’s acclaimed music faculty. This special addition to SummerFestival requires musicians to audition for acceptance into the program. Space is limited, so submit your audition as soon as possible.

SummerFestival is a six-day summer camp for young instrumentalists and vocalists ages 14–18 who want to improve their musical skills and talents. All applicants will be admitted as long as there are spaces available for their instrument. SummerFestival offers instruction in more than 20 instruments, including voice. Musical styles include classical, big band, jazz, blues, and so on. Instruction is by School of Music faculty and guest instructors. Instruction is offered at the intermediate and advanced levels.
