    Overview

Bank Street Summer Camp uses educational professionals and recreational learning to create developmentally focused programs and experiences that are open to any children entering pre-kindergarten through eighth grade (ages 4 to 13).

Each day, campers will participate in specialized activities that explore a range of topics, such as Spanish, theater, or STEAM, led by education professionals. Campers will also swim twice a week and go on weekly field trips. Daily snack and lunch are provided and are made in-house by the Bank Street kitchen team.

Bank Street Summer Camp follows the same Health & Safety plans that have been developed by the School for Children. The camp day runs from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Early morning and late afternoon care are not available for Summer 2022.

As part of Children’s Programs at Bank Street, each camp group is located in its own air-conditioned classroom complete with a variety of developmentally appropriate materials. Campers use the outdoor deck and roof as well as the nearby fields and playgrounds located just half a block away in Riverside Park. More information about our facilities can be found in the School for Children’s Virtual Tour, accessible below.

Bank Street Summer Camp is located at 610 West 112th Street. Some families walk or bike to camp, some drive, and many make use of the nearby 1 Train stop at 110th Street or the convenient M104 and M60 public bus routes.

    • Thank You Bank Street Camp! Highest Praise!

My daughters had never done a full day camp until they came to Bank Street two years ago. My then 15 year old joined the Leadership Development Program and my then 10 year old joined the Musical Theater Camp. It was amazing to see both girls grow and develop over their six weeks here.

My older daughter learned to take responsibility for her own actions, which is truly a life lesson; to express herself better; how to compromise; and how to lead

My younger daughter is often the observer, who takes a while to warm up to join a crowd. But in theater camp, under the careful eye of her counselors, she gained the confidence to take chances she might not have otherwise taken. By the end of her summer, she even had a small solo in the camp performance!

This past summer, both girls returned to summer camp.

My older daughter, now a junior counselor helped to take charge of her assigned campers/room; honed her skills in handling the bundles of energy that 8 and 9 year children bring with them; brought to life a musical from scratch; was able to combine her love of children with her creative skills; and really wanted to do her best job for her counselors and the staff at camp to make them proud

And my shy little 10 year old returned as this confident 11 year old, who belted out songs and ended up with one of the leads in the musical. She discovered that when she put her mind to it, she could sing really well, and make people laugh, every day. That self-confidence has stuck with her ever since - she feels invincible.

Truly amazing to see. I'm just sorry we didn't find you earlier!

My daughter absolutely loves and looks forward to attending Bank Street summer camp each year. It provides a fun, engaging learning experience for all campers. The staff and camp counselors are super friendly, organized and caring. I definitely recommend this camp.

While it's true the camp is best known for it's amazing early childhood program, my daugheter (11) loved the day-trip upper camp option. She has big plans with her camp friends for the weekly travel program next summer. I'm looking forward to my to-be 14 year old's participation in the leadership training program this summer. I think it's just what he needs to prepare him for high school and work.

Bank Street's summer camp programs are great for younger kids. The camp has struggled to serve the needs of older kids, ages 13 and 14, especially on overnight trips. After a terrible experience, I would caution parents to think twice before enrolling teens in the Camp's travel programs.
