    Overview

Join us for an unforgettable backpacking adventure in the White Mountains, designed for teens (ages 14-17) looking to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and experience nature this summer! Over the course of four days, you’ll embark on a challenging hike and take on leadership roles that will push you to grow as both a hiker and a leader.

Campers brush up on backcountry skills; setting up our camp, practicing good wildlife safety, and preparing our meals on camp-stoves. After two nights at backcountry campsites, we’ll stay our last night at one of AMC’s High Mountain Huts. You’ll have the chance to learn about opportunities to work and volunteer in the outdoor recreation and conservation fields. We’ll learn what goes into building backcountry trails and running backcountry facilities like campsites and huts.

Through the expedition, you’ll refine your leadership abilities in a supportive, fun environment, all while exploring some of the most beautiful, rugged terrain in the Northeast. By the end of the trip, you’ll return home with a greater sense of confidence, newfound skills, and a deeper connection to nature—and yourself.
