Attending this program is a decision I would gladly go back in time and do again. Getting to explore different locations in Northern Ireland, both for the internship itself and for the fun of it, has proven to be such an eye-opening opportunity. Everything I've experienced while on this program has been etched into memory as a defining part of the person I am becoming- and I would have it no other way.

I attended Europe Gap Year...
I attended Europe Gap Year - Celtic Catalyst in the early spring of 2025. It was a wonderful, informative, and thorough program that challenged me professionally and independently, and in the end, helped me grow my independent living skills and my professional talents. Alongside growing personal skills, EGY also emphasized traveling and exploring the Northern Ireland and neighboring countries - because of this I went to each county in Northern Ireland, as well as checked out various parts around the Republic of Ireland and Scotland. This was an amazing program that I would do all over again and I would highly recommend to anyone considering.

I first got in contact...
I first got in contact with Ricky (the program owner) in Nov-Dec 2024 after finding about this program on TeenLife.com. I then had a few calls with him and I was set to join the Celtic Catalyst 2025 Spring Program in Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Scotland. During the program, we met with a few professional businessmen, a professional photographer, and a TedX speaker. We then completed the social media project that Tourism Northern Ireland briefed us on; which was a great addition to my CV as work experience. The balance between free time and work was also perfect for me as I was looking for a program that still gives me work so I don't get bored and idle, but also not too much work where I am overwhelmed and stressed. Ricky and the program leader, Ria, were both extremely helpful and even made lists of things to do in the cities where we weren't familiar with. In the end, I've come out of the program with a lot of new things I've never tried before like surfing and I've met some great people that I hope to be friends with for a long time.

So back in around Nov-Dec...
So back in around Nov-Dec 2024, I was looking for an internship/gap year program, specifically somewhere in the UK, and I came across this program on TeenLife.com. After easily arranging some meetings with Ricky (the owner of the program), I was set to join the Celtic Catalyst Spring Program 2025. During this program, I got to do so many new things like surf and see really unique locations in Northern Ireland. I'm also really glad that Ricky was able to still make the program so fun while having us (the gap year students) complete a project for Tourism Northern Ireland; which will be a great addition to my CV as I have very little work experience prior to this. I think the best part of this program for me is the balance between work and free time. Every week, we have two 'off' days where we are free to explore and find new interests, while on the 'work' days, we have a clear plan on what exactly we need to do on that day to stay on-time for our projects. I've definitely learned a lot of new skills and gained a lot of experience from this program; while being able to meet some great people that will hopefully be lifelong friends.

I think Europe gap year...
I think Europe gap year was an amazing experience and I can't believe its over its been such a blessing and I'm so lucky I've found it. I've met so many amazing people and have had so many once in a lifetime experiences and I've gained so much it , from learning to plan projects how to communicate better, how to live independently, how to manage time and money. The reason i picked it was because i didn't really know if i wanted to go straight into college and have to do school for another four years. But its really opened my eyes to so many new things. I loved being able to experience all the different cultures we came into contact with. A huge passion of mine is skateboarding and one of my main dreams is to travel and skate the whole world and Europe gap year has already given me a big taste of that dream from being able to skate both main city's of Scotland Edinburgh and Glasgow. I also love live music from metal to tencho and electronic music so being able to go to all the different night clubs around Scotland was so fun. I really enjoyed all the different aspects of this gap year and I highly recommend it if you're wanting a break from school and want to travel a little bit before college.

Europe Gap Year was an absolutely worthwhile experience for me. It had everything I was looking for in a gap year programme: an internship that provided me with work experience and developed important skills, the chance to travel and explore a new country, meeting and spending time with others my own age, and the opportunity to live independently and learn to take care of myself. It was a wonderful programme, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a way to spend their gap year.
