PROGRAMS FOR TEENS

Outpost

Tocaloma’s Outpost Adventure Program promotes teamwork, fosters self-awareness and allows campers to develop skills in a variety of outdoor sports and recreational activities.

Traveling to offsite locations, our 6 to 9th grade Outpost campers frequently participate in a number of exciting activities including bowling, sailing & kayaking, and laser tag. Emphasis is placed on skill development, teamwork, decision-making and individual responsibility and self-awareness.

Onsite activities include teambuilding initiatives, sports, arts & crafts, swimming, rock climbing, archery, drama, daily events and overnights.

CIT {Counselor in Training}

Tocaloma’s Leadership Program is open to teens entering grades 9 through 12. As a CIT, campers are exposed to different elements of leadership including group dynamics, child development and teamwork.

Working with our youngest campers, CITs are placed with seasoned staff while they participate in aiding supervision, setting up developmentally appropriate activities and, of course, setting a good example by engaging themselves in the camp activities and having fun with their groups.

Meeting regularly with the CIT Director, the group discusses various leadership topics as well as their personal experiences with the group. Many CITs continue on to be Tocaloma Staff.
