Four-week, pre-college art & design program designed to develop your artistic and creative skills. Serious young artists seeking to strengthen and enhance their art and design skills, as well as students with limited art training, are invited to participate.
Experience what it is like to study at one of the nation's premier art and design colleges with college faculty and artist professionals in Los Angeles, California. Get a preview of the college experience and earn college credit! Choose from an array of specialization courses and foundation drawing courses.
Specialization Courses include Architecture/Landscapes/Interiors, Character Development and Design, Digital Media: 2D Animation, Digital Media: 3D Animation, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Urban Art, and Product and Toy Design. DrawingStudio Courses include Beginning Drawing, Intermediate Drawing, and Life Drawing. NEW this summer! Indie Game Design Workshop: five days per week course.
Small classes ensure personalized, in-depth learning. Rigorous course work includes hands-on studio courses and labs in your chosen Specialization Course (three days per week) and/or a Foundation Studio Course (two days per week). Classes meet 9:00am - 4:20pm, Monday through Friday. (Some outside work is required.) 2 units of college credit for Specialization Courses and 1 unit of college credit for Foundation Studio Courses are awarded to eligible students upon successful completion of the program.
Summer of Art also offers an English Language Immersion Program (ELIP). The English Language Immersion Program is designed to expand one’s competency of the English language in a creative environment while developing skills and knowledge in art and design. Courses include Drawing and Composition and Art, Design, and Culture.

On-campus housing is now available. A limited number of spaces are available for students who need housing. Students must be enrolled in the full 5-day program and between 15–18 years of age to reside in housing. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Room & Board*: $1800
Board includes Dining Hall meal plan with three meals a day Mondey-Friday and two meals a day on Saturday and Sunday.
The housing program includes field trips on Saturdays and evening activites throughout the week. Students have free time on Sundays and after 4:20 until curfew (10:00pm) each night.
