Smith's College Admission Workshop is a one-week program for exceptional young women who are starting to look at applying to college. Participants will get support with their college application, essay, interview practice, and more.
Important COVID-19 update Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Smith College on-campus programs have been canceled for the 2020 summer season to ensure the health and safety of our participants and staff. Please visit our website or connect with us on social media (@summeratsmith) to be in touch. We wish you wellness and peace at this time and hope to hear from you during our 2021 application season.
This one-week program is for rising high school juniors and seniors who are beginning to look at colleges. You will learn how to successfully navigate the college application process. Your instructors will be Smith’s own professional admission staff as well as visiting admission officers from other top-ranked colleges and universities. You will learn how to write a college-level essay, how to ace a college admission interview, and how to give an introductory speech. You will finish the program with new confidence for interviews as well as the ability to speak comfortably while talking about yourself and your achievements. You will also come away with a better idea of the type of college or university that is a good fit for you.
Since Smith's precollege summer programs are residential, students get the exciting opportunity to live in one of Smith's unique campus houses. Smith's residential environment enhances and enriches the academic programs. Students will also have access to the dining hall, superb athletic facilities, an art museum, a botanic garden and greenhouse, and libraries.
*Young women who will be in high school (grades 11 and 12) in fall 2020 are eligible to apply for the summer 2020 College Admission Workshop.
