Overview

Students participate in ecological exploration with senior faculty examining the plant and animal species that inhabit these ecosystems and use archaeological techniques, along with GIS and GPS technology, to study how people have used and changed these ecosystems over time.

Sewanee's Pre-College Field Studies Experience provides an interdisciplinary introduction to environmental studies and is:

Designed for students who are passionate about the outdoors, for those that want to advance their knowledge and skills in the study of the environment, for rising high school juniors and seniors with a history of academic success.

Students will have the opportunity to explore Sewanee's ecologically diverse 13,000-acre campus under the guidance of faculty members who are passionate about environmental education.

Cost and Session Information

Program Dates: June 25 - July 8, 2017

What will it cost?

The cost of the 2016 program was $1750. Program costs cover all instruction, activities, room and board. Limited scholarships are available. Please inquire for more information. Transportation to and from the Nashville and Chattanooga airports is provided by a private shuttle company at an additional cost.
