The Acting Intensive is a four-week precollege program offers a concentrated summer training experience in the art and craft of acting. The hands-on, conservatory-style curriculum gives students a chance to learn some of the most important and influential acting practices of the modern theatre.
The actors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in scene work and exercises that develop the crucial skills of building characters, playing objectives, controlling self-awareness, and expressing interior emotions both physically and vocally. The core curriculum draws from Stanislavsky Technique. Through contemporary scene study, monologue work, and improvisation, students will leave this program with a clear understanding of how to analyze a script, create a character, find strong objectives, and play clear actions. Students discover not only how to express themselves individually but also how to work as an ensemble, gaining valuable leadership skills while having fun and making friends. This program offers the opportunity to work with professional theatre artists who are devoted to nurturing the next generation of actors.
