Overview
This 3-credit college-level course uses the beautiful and majestic Hudson River Valley as a natural laboratory in which you will examine natural systems, the impacts of human activities upon these systems, and how society deals with these impacts.
Marist College is a highly selective comprehensive liberal arts institution noted for its leadership in technology in and out of the classroom. When prospective students see Marist–our beautiful location on the Hudson River, top-notch facilities, the faculty attentiveness, and the sheer enjoyment of their experience here–they want to join our community. At Marist, students get a premium education, develop skills, make lifelong friends, and finish ahead of the competition for their next steps.
During this summer program you will learn about important and timeless environmental issues in classrooms and labs not only at Marist's campus on the Hudson River, but also during frequent field trips, including a visit to New York City and parts of its watershed, and a sail on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, America's Environmental Flagship. The course, which will culminate with a student presentation of independent projects, counts toward the Core/Professional Studies Natural Science requirement at Marist.
