Imagination Stage offers its filmmaking program in a unique and comprehensive camp environment. Young filmmakers are placed in small teams to complete short narrative films from concept to final cut. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals and process of filmmaking: story analysis, pre-production techniques, composition, cinematography, editing, and sound. Professional films are screened and analyzed while campers begin to create their own aesthetic.
Campers who have participated in previous film camps and/or classes are paired with filmmakers of comparable experience or may choose to participate in the Advanced Filmmaking Academy to reach the next level of their education in the craft of filmmaking. Projects are screened in an end of camp premiere in the Imagination Stage's Christopher and Dana Reeve Studio Theatre.
Filmmaking camps take place at our Bethesda location only. Campers are to provide their own lunch.
