Green River Preserve Expeditions are co-ed teen adventure camps offering transformational life experiences and leadership training for rising 9th graders - college freshmen.
Green River Preserve Expedtions offers groups of up to twelve participants in rising 9th grade to college freshmen and their leaders two or three week adventure trips in one of our four expedition sites: Blue Ridge, a two week backpacking and whitewater canoe trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina: Outer Banks , a two week backpacking and sea kayaking trip on the Outer Banks of North Carolina; Trail Blazers, a three week leadership service trip including a backpacking and canoe trip; and Western Expeditions, a three week backpacking and white water rafting trip in the San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado.
Green River Preserve and Queens University of Charlotte, NC have partnered together to offer four college credit hours for Western Expeditions (WXP) and Trailblazers Leadership Expedition (TBX). These Expeditions are for rising 11th and 12th graders and college freshmen.
Green River Preserve Summer Camp (rising 2nd - 9th) offers a wide variety of activities such as hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, outdoor skills, environmental science, fly fishing, music, guitar, art, theater, pottery, woodworking, archery, and BB skeet foster life time learning skills. Green River Preserves high school expedition trips are adventures and community building programs designed to develop outdoor skills, teamwork, and leadership opportunities. Green River Preserves program and activities offer quality, intentional, experiential learning opportunities that spark diversity of thought and creativity.
