Overview

Girl’s Leadership’s internationally-recognized residential summer program, founded in 2001 by girl experts and social entrepreneurs Rachel Simmons and Simone Marean, is a summer camp experience for girls like no other.

Girls depart from a Girls Leadership summer with some of the best friendships of their lives, and the tools to seek out and nourish real friendships back home.

Nested on the beautiful, rolling campus of Mt. Holyoke in South Hadley, Massachusetts, our Summer Program combines the best of traditional summer camp – amazing friendships, fun games and evening activities, a powerhouse team of extraordinary staff – with something no other camp offers: fun, life-changing workshops that brings every girl closer to knowing her unique self, respecting herself, and giving her the skills to create change in her world.

What does the Girls Leadership magic look like? It is 80 screaming girls, covered in face paint, playing kickball. It is cheering for every single girl at bat and then hearing all those girls cheer for you. It’s being part of a group sing along (when you can’t carry a tune) under a tarp in the pouring rain. It’s acknowledging and being supported around your real emotions, just when you thought no one was listening. It’s about taking risks and being your real self in order to inspire in all girls the permission to do the same.
