    Overview

Our camps are for kids who have suffered the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver. When you go to camp, you will meet kids who have been through similar things you have. Because everyone here has had a loss and can relate on a level that few others can, you will make lasting friendships.

Our traditional program offers kids ages 7-17 a safe and fun environment at a rustic camp facility – campers connect with their peers and learn coping skills through age-appropriate activities and discussions. Campers are matched one-on-one with a Big Buddy adult mentor who provides encouragement and support throughout the weekend. Youth meet in age-based support groups facilitated by a mental health professional, called Healing Circles, where they can share and reflect on their grief experience. By the end of the weekend, campers leave the “bubble” with a community, a sense of connection, and coping skills for their grief journey.

Because everyone here has had a loss and can relate on a level that few others can, you will make lasting friendships. Camp is mostly about fun. We play games, hike, sing karaoke (or watch), and eat s'mores. But there are also times throughout the weekend where you will be able to hear other kids' stories, and have the chance to tell your own. Everything is done by choice, so you can share as much - or as little - as you want.

We also offer a virtual Comfort Zone at Home Camp. Comfort Zone at Home has all your campers’ favorite activities from an in-person camp program: icebreaker games, big buddy share, memorial service, healing circles and FUN!
