Summer Teenage Course in Fukuoka: Most of the younger students come out in July and August to enjoy a summer holiday in this fabulous city; soak up the Japanese culture, improve their Japanese language skills and share the experience with other teenage students.
The Japanese language course is purely communication orientated, ideal for those who wish to study key grammar and conversation skills of the language, but don’t require in-depth study. Classes are made up of 2 lessons of grammar and 2 lessons of conversation per day, with the main focus on real-life skills. Learn common sentence patterns and vocabulary with your teacher and use them in practical situations both in and out of the classroom. The language course is not solely for teenagers, students of all ages are welcome to join this program. Most teenagers are beginners, and can be placed together in a class, but this is not always possible. There are generally 10 to 20 teenagers (14 yrs to 17 yrs of age) present each week, throughout July and August. They live in residence or host accommodation, specifically chosen for ease of access to the school by public transport and good student supervision (but still a commute away of 30/50 mins). Please note there are no dedicated teenage monitors watching the students, so any teenager wishing to join this program will need to be fairly independent.
