    Overview

CAMP TECUMSEH, founded in 1903, is a residential camp offering a wide variety of activities for boys ages 8-16. Tecumseh is located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire with nearly two miles of shoreline on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee, New England’s largest lake. The campus covers over 300 acres and boasts some of the finest camp facilities in the country.

Camp Tecumseh offers boys, ages 8-16, the opportunity to grow and have fun in many different ways.

Camp Tecumseh is famous for its renowned athletic program.  Our experienced staff, many of whom are alumni and former college athletes and presently coach at a high level, impart both knowledge of their sport and the value of sportsmanship to our campers. Boys are exposed to virtually every activity in camp.  The last week of the summer, Tecumseh allows a boy to specialize in one or two activities in what we call Clinic. Often visiting coaches are invited to camp during Clinic.

Many boys each summer choose to participate in Tecumseh’s equally renowned drama program that culminates each summer with the annual Gilbert and Sullivan operetta performed for parents and the public. This wonderful tradition has been going strong for over 75 years! The values of disciplined practice and teamwork are not confined to the playing fields at Tecumseh.

Mountain trips, a part of the Tecumseh experience since Camp’s inception, continue to flourish. Day and overnight trips in canoes, kayaks, or on foot are a vital part of Tecumseh’s mission to enhance every camper’s self esteem and self-confidence. Tecumseh is ideally located for trips in the White Mountain range.

Tecumseh is non-sectarian and respects all religious preferences. The social, emotional and spiritual health and growth of our campers is equally as important as their physical well-being. Cabin Life provides the setting and opportunity for campers to make long-lasting friendships. Ten cabins, varying in size from 12-16 campers, are located lakeside. Generally there are three senior counselors and a junior counselor in each cabin. Senior campers live in large platform tents located next to the waterfront; usually four campers to each tent and the senior counselors reside on senior campus in a tent of their own.
