Overview

Founded in 1926, Anokijig has grown to one of the largest youth camps in the Midwest and has a stellar record of successfully serving youth. Core programs are youth summer camp, teen leadership development, outdoor education, family programs, group retreats, adventure challenges, team building & volunteerism.

Camp Anokijig consists of 356 acres of Kettle Moraine forest land, rolling hills, fields, streams, and ponds surrounding three-fourths of Little Elkhart Lake, including an expansive waterfront environment with 5,000 feet of shoreline, a ranch program with 50 horses, over 95 activities, and a rustic setting with genuine log cabins and platform tents.

Our summer camp serves boys and girls from 7 to 16 years old. Campers come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds from rural, urban and suburban locations; even international!

Summer camp at Anokijig offers a plethora of activities designed to give campers new experiences and opportunities to learn outdoor and life-long skills while instilling positive character traits at the same time.  All summer campers participate in two skill areas choosing from options like Fishing, Arts & Crafts, Boating, Swimming, Windsurfing, Archery, Ukulele, Digital Photo, Woodworking, Dance, Drama, Choir, Nature, or Trailcrafts; campers also enjoy All-Camp, Sectional, and Directed Free Time activities. Campers are also encouraged to join our Knighthood honor society.

We provide a safe, nurturing environment where campers are surrounded by positive influences and mentors who help them develop a foundation of positive values.  One of our main goals is to help our campers mature by giving them opportunities to take on responsibility in a guided environment.  Anokijig places importance on individual choices and responsibilities which foster personal growth.  The amazing thing is - campers are too busy having outrageous fun to realize they’re learning important life lessons at the same time!
