    Overview

Brehm’s Summer Program is a holistic, four-week overnight and day program for students ages 8-18 with learning differences. Located in the beautiful and natural learning environment of southern Illinois, area trips and activities inspire camaraderie and self-confidence as students engage in learning experiences that capture their imaginations and make learning fun.

Campers will engage in adventure and recreational activities that enable students to have fun while growing emotionally and culturaly helping them to develop as a whole person.

Academic curriculum targets skills in an experiential learning environment. Students rotate through remedial math, reading comprehension, writing, social pragmatics, and fun electives that allow them to explore a variety of interests.

Our holistic summer program is focused on improving interpersonal, collaborative, executive functioning, healthy living, and life skills. Students will work with ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists to help them develop the skills that lead to more positive, productive, and satisfying interactions with their peers.

Students enrolled at Brehms Summer Program come with a variety of challenges to academic, social, or emotional success including, but not limited to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Nonverbal Learning Disability (NLD), Communication Disorders, Auditory Processing Disorders, Processing, and Memory Deficits, Tourette Syndrome, Anxiety, and Specific Learning Disability; defined as a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or in using language, spoken or written, that may manifest itself in an imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or to do mathematical calculations, including conditions such as perceptual disabilities, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia.

We offer day and residential options.
