The String Scholars camp is a unique camp for strings students on the beautiful campus of Butler University. This camp is open to students ages 12-17 or who are in rising grades 7-12. No audition is required; all levels are welcome; minimum one year of prior study on instrument is required.
The String Scholars camp features: daily orchestra rehearsals and finale concert with Richard Auldon Clark, conductor of the Butler Symphony Orchestra; daily sectionals and technique class with Butler faculty and music majors; other typical college music classes such as music theory and electives. Additional classes typically include drumming, dance, and keyboard. Special sessions will be held on topics of college readiness and access, including how to prepare for an audition, choosing a major or college, financial aid, career paths in music, and more.
