Do not send your child here. During the day there a several lulls in the activities where the children are left to mill about in one of the multi purpose rooms at the swim center. They put out 1 table with no chairs and call it craft time and the counselors just sit back and chat amongst themselves. The only interaction between the counselors and the children seems to be to yell at any child who gets bored and misbehaves. I had the misfortune to witness this when dropping off my children an hour late one day and picking them up early another. I quizzed the kids and lunch is the same. An hour where they do nothing but sit on the floor, play electronics, or cards and get bored while the counselors talk to each other. At lunch the counselors don't even bother getting out tables or chairs even though plenty were stacked against the walls. The kids are left to sit on the floor and given nothing to do if they finish early. All the while the counselors sit at their table, you guessed it, talk to each other. Same thing at the end of the day when they finish early to clean up before pick up and sit around doing nothing for 30 to 40 minutes. The counselors don't seem to do much better during activities either. From my children I gather they give a basic run down of a game, swim, dive, activity, etc and then stand back and watch. They are either being just plain lazy or think that their only job as counselor is to "watch" the children. I've tried to call the supervisor to talk about these issues but have not received any response. Between the lack of activities and borderline "abusive" disciplne I'm pulling my children from the camp early. Do not send your children hear.
