    Overview

Discover the World of Communication at American University offers interactive workshops for students entering grades 9-12 where you will learn to build a digital portfolio, write a script, shoot and edit a film, write a news story like a pro, speak with confidence, design your own video game or VR hologram, persuade, inform, educate, and entertain.

All of our professional, hands-on workshops are taught by American University School of Communication faculty and communication professionals in a commuter program.

View live television and radio broadcasts at local studios, cover a Nationals baseball game or WNBA game, write and make a short film, perfect your photography portfolio, create your own hologram or video game, and more.

Presented across two sessions in July, each session offers nine days of morning and afternoon classes.

There are no prerequisites to apply. Classes include professional instruction, supplies, and access to cutting-edge equipment. Every student receives a beautiful course completion certificate.
