We believe in the power of young women and educate them to embrace our core values of excellence, service, courage, and conscience. We strive to offer our best work, to maintain the highest standards, and to set goals within a context that honors our contributions and achievements.
Since 1900 NCS has thrived educating a diverse group of young women of strong character, great intelligence, and skill. In addition, our students grow up in the light of the Washington National Cathedral, where they gather each week for worship.
Teachers here respect and challenge each girl and inspire excellence, independence, self-discipline, and creativity. Consequently, students truly commit to their classes; they develop a strong work ethic; and they express themselves freely and fully. When you visit you will see that our classrooms and hallways are lively with debate, scholarship, the next great idea, calls to service, and, of course, friendship. We are blessed by the company of 580 terrific young women.
