Marburn Academy

Marburn Academy is an independent day school devoted to serving the educational needs of students grades 1-12 who learn differently due to dyslexia, executive function difficulties, and attention issues.

At Marburn Academy, thirty-two years of experience demonstrates that our students learn at high levels when their learning differences are matched by corresponding teaching differences. These are children of average to superior intelligence who struggle to learn reading, writing, spelling, math, and/or self-management skills if they are taught with traditional teaching methods.

Marburn Academy Lower and Middle Division teachers are extensively trained in Orton-Gillingham instruction, widely recognized as the preferred approach for teaching reading and writing to students with dyslexia. A key element of instruction at Marburn is also teaching self-management skills to students with ADHD.
